Kindness in the Community
For Loneliness Awareness Week 2026, Amy decided it was time to give back to the community and help bring people together through the joy of flowers.
Over two dozen mini bouquets were handmade and hidden in public places throughout West Cork including Rosscarbery, Leap, Drinagh, Union Hall and Skibbereen.
The idea behind the bouquets was to help combat loneliness – whoever discovered a bouquet would find a handwritten note encouraging them to take the flowers to visit someone and help brighten their day.
During her regular deliveries, Amy recognised how important social interactions were for people’s wellbeing and thought this initiative would be the perfect way to help people connect with each other and reduce feelings of loneliness.
Messages of sheer joy from both those who found bouquets and received them came flooding in which meant the campaign was a big success.
